EMI reflecting in overweight
Hello doctor.
My age is 32 . Weight is 88 kgs. I'm 6 ft tall with a muscular physique as I'm into fitness and weight lifting for the last 10 years. As per BMI calculation, it shows that my weight range should be anywhere between 65 -80 and more than 80 is categorized as overweight and above 96 is obese. Currently my weight is 88 kg. Bcos of corona lockdown from the month of March, I couldn't hit the gym and work from home sedentary life increased my weight from 81 to 88 kgs. Now, I feel so heavy. Within 5 mins of jogging, I feel heavy breathing and pain in my legs.
As overweight and obesity are the root cause of most of the health problem which includes blood pressure, type 2 diabetes , cholesterol and joint pain. I would like to know the exact root cause of weight gain. Is it bcos of accumulation of excess body fat or muscle . Is there any specific test to check the body fat percentage. ? Do I need to lose muscle or fat or weight. I'm confused. Kindly provide ur suggestions
