Rabies transmission inquiry

“Is it true that rabies exposure occurs only when a dog directly licks or bites a fresh bleeding wound, and that indirect contact—such as saliva present on a surface touching the wound, even if the saliva is fresh—does NOT count as rabies exposure?”

Do I need Rabies PEP ?

I completed rabies PEP primary vaccination on 12 Jan 2025, 15 Jan 2025, 19 Jan 2025, and 9 Feb 2025. After a re-exposure, I took 2 booster doses: 25 Oct 2025 and 29 Oct 2025 (was due 28 Oct 2025 but taken 1 day late). As per the “3-month protection after booster dose” rule, It is considered that mine protection is covered until 26 Jan 2026 (counting from ~28 Oct 2025/booster 2 scheduled date). I got bitten again on 25 Jan 2026—am I safe as I am under 3 months from booster dose 2, or do I need any further rabies vaccine/PEP now as my 2nd booster dose was 1 day late?

Skipping breakfast

Since past one year, I am skipping breakfast as a part of the intermittent fasting, but I take a tea and coffee in the morning recently I when I checked my thyroid level where high (TSH - 12.3024) and my prolactinw level has been high since past a couple of years (150 now). So, I had consulted a doctor for this and started taking medicines for both thyroid and prolactin. I want to know if skipping breakfast has any thing to do with the hormonal changes or is it okay to continue as I want to manage my weight.

Persistent fever after viral

My father (55 years) had continuous fever for about 14 days with chills. He was treated with antivirals, antibiotics, IV fluids and IV steroids. Initially oxygen dropped to 85–88% while lying and 90–92% while sitting. Over the last few days oxygen has improved to 92–95% while sitting and reaches 96–98% with deep breathing. CT chest showed bilateral lung inflammation. Dengue, typhoid, blood culture and urine culture are all negative. ECG is normal. Latest blood report (13-01-2026): WBC: 4500 (normal) Platelets: 3.46 lakhs (normal) ESR: 63 (high) Total bilirubin: 2.2 Direct bilirubin: 1.2 SGOT: 86 SGPT: 64 ALP: 221 Albumin: 3.3 Random sugar: 324 (after steroid) Urea and creatinine normal Fatty liver present Doctor says blood and liver values are improving after reducing medicines and patient is in recovery stage. However fever still comes mainly at night (100–101°F) and settles with paracetamol. My questions: Is it normal for fever to continue like this during recovery ?

Fever issue

My father is 78 years old. He had a chest and cold infection around 3 weeks ago. He was given Augmentin 1 g twice daily and Levofloxacin 500 mg once daily for 14 days. He recovered well. After finishing the medicines, he got a mild fever without any other symptoms. We gave fever medicine for 2 days and the fever stopped. We did blood tests (CBC, CRP, blood culture), urine test, and typhoid test. All reports were normal. He had no fever for 5 days. Today again he got fever of 100.2°F at night. He has mild dry cough and feels very weak. No breathing problem, chest pain, urine problem, or loose motions. Please advise what could be the reason for repeated low-grade fever in this age and what further tests are needed, he doesn't want to go to the hospital.
