I am suffering from fever, allergy and weakness from last two days after 24 hours of journey by train. I am also taking medicine prescribed by doctor. Water consumption

Hi. I used to drink close to 5 to 6 litres of water in an average on daily basis for past 10 years because of Gastric issue!. Now on I am getting to know that max of 4 litres should be taken. So, should I reduce to around 3.5 litres slowly or continue as my body could be used to?
