Ear-Nose-Throat Problems

My nose gets blocked once I lie down.. can chronic sinusitis/allergic rhinitis causes memory problem? Is that is permanent?? Is there any cure?

My mother's ear drum had ruptured when she was an infant, she didn't get the treatment required for it. A few days back her ear discharge started with some noise and discomfort. The doctor performed a ct scan, now on the basis of the report he says that the operation needs to be done but there is no guarantee that it will not create any problem further because there is also an issue to the ear bone. Since the last 2 nights, i have developed a really bad throat. It started by being itchy but then just worsened off. Right now, I have a dry cough but whenever I do, my throat hurts so much.
