I have ankle pain and swelling. Pain is at medial side and when I press bone also it is giving pain. Around this area swelling is also there. If I press on the swelling it is showing a dent. Kft and Lft test results are normal. I had uric acid compliant few days ago and now uric acid is also normal. Can this be because of gout? Does it cause water retention around the anke joint? This dent is there around the pain area only and inside also I feel soft. Please advise

I have high uric acid problem and used febuxostat 40mg and levels are now reduced. Is this tablet to be taken for lifelong or can we manage uric acid levels to stay low with diet and repeating tests if it is high, then only can I use this tablet?
