My doctor said I have gingivitis and asked me to do a scaling. I  don't feel any pain in my gums. What should I do?

Last week I have hurt my tooth very badly with the front of MY brush. It was so hard that blood started coming out. The gum of that tooth is. Reciding. After that there was immense pain. I was continuously travelling so couldn't use any gel or have antibiotics . Since yesterday the pain is not too intense however it is hurting at times specially while eating its paining slightly not burning. I am feeling that the gum has recided more after this incident.
