QUERY REGARDING DIABETES
Can type 2 diabetes cause vertigo, vomiting, excessive thirst, blackout and weakness ?
My father out of sudden has episodes of all the above mentioned symptoms and then when I check his Blood Sugar it's always 170 to 180 mg/dl but when there are no such symptoms and he is normal then his blood sugar is around 122mg/dl ?
So my question is : Is he diabetic ?
And if yes, then should I start with medications or should he go for HbA1C before starting medicines ?
In such mild cases which is the drug of choice to control diabetes ? Metformin or Glimepiride ?
Please throw some light.
