Risk of stretching your thryroid gland

Hii doctor, as you know the thyroid gland is supplied by branches of carotid artery and other blood vessels. So, can moving/lowering your thryroid down (along with Adam's apple) to the full range or too much, tear or damage those arteries (like carotid artery)? Sorry for the stupid question. Itchy anus and liquid leak after surgery
