Height Checking
Hello Doctor,
I'm a 21-year-old male (turning 22 in September) and I'm 5'6" (168 cm). I'd like to know whether my growth plates have fused and if I have any remaining natural height growth potential.
Could you please advise:
- Which imaging test is most appropriate (hand/wrist X-ray, knee X-ray, or something else)?
- Should I visit an orthopedic doctor or an endocrinologist for this evaluation?
I'm mainly looking for a proper assessment so I can know my remaining growth potential, if any.
Thank you.

Left wrist hairline fracture
My name is Prashanth, and I am 37 years old. I had a bike accident on 1st July and sustained a hairline fracture in my left wrist. I have been taking rest for the past 23 days and had a follow-up X-ray after 18 days.
Today is 24th July. I am still using a wrist splint for safety, and I have mild pain.
Could you please advise whether it is safe for me to start riding my bike from tomorrow, or should I continue resting for a few more days?
Thank you.🙏

2nd opinion for my son's finger fracture
Hello Doctor, I need a second opinion for my 2.5-year-old son’s right middle finger injury. About 10–15 days ago, his finger was severely crushed in a door, causing significant soft tissue loss and a fracture. We first saw an orthopedic doctor, who referred us to a surgeon for wound care. After dressings, another surgeon advised waiting for the wound to heal before deciding on surgery, mentioning the fingertip might remain slightly bent. Now the wound has mostly healed, and a repeat X-ray shows the bone is displaced. The orthopedic surgeon now recommends surgery under anesthesia with K-wire (pin) fixation. I have attached the latest X-rays. Is surgery/K-wire really necessary, or can it heal well without surgery considering his age? Is it safe and appropriate to operate 10–15 days after the injury? What would you recommend? Thank you.

Heel pain in both feet
Hello Doctor,
I have been having pain in the heels of both feet for the last 2 months. The pain is mainly at the bottom of both heels and is present almost all the time. It is worst when I get out of bed after sleeping in the morning, and it also increases after standing or walking for a long time. The pain is affecting my daily activities.
Could this be plantar fasciitis, or could there be another cause? What tests or treatment would you recommend?
