Ear-Nose-Throat Problems

Mom is having sore throat and also feeling pain.  She generally gets cold after 2 days of sore throat. Kindly advice a medicine. Thanks

My father has been facing a kind of sore throat since January. His throat used to get chocked up though now that doesn't happen. Doctors couldn't diagnose it. They have now suggested Fibre Optic Laryngoscopy test on him. How safe is this test and what precautions should we take? Do we instead go for second opinion?

In November my nose suddenly got built up with hard mucus. Sometimes closing my nose all together. It wouldn't blow out and i had to pick at it. It eventually turned to dry blood and mucus. That lasted about 6 weeks. Since then my nose is extremely dry. I get build up in my inner nose a couple times a day. I have to blow my nose at least a dozen times a day, usually more. It's very uncomfortable. I've been using nasal spray and Vaseline to keep it moist, but it honestly doesn't help much.

I have a sore throat on one side, was asking this question due to never having such symptoms before, I can feel one side of my lymph nodes are swollen (same side as the throat) and also on the same side the outside near where the jaw bone ends is really painful to touch. I've only had it from today and last night but this afternoon it has become a lot more painful.

My 6 years old son is suffering from acute cough and cold for the last 3-4 months. He also snores while sleeping. He was prescribed antibiotics along with anti allergic medicines, expectorant as well as sometimes steroids also but problem reappears. Doctor are saying that he is suffering from thick post nasal drip and also have hyperactive adenoid and allergic rhinitis. Please suggest what course of action to be taken to get rid of the situation.
