Biopsy? Cirrhosis
71 years, early cirrhosis, asymptomatic. Dr said ?AIH , ?PBC, or metabolic. Has prediabetes, hypertension. Osteoarthritis. CHILD A. Meld 8. Fibrosis scan CAP mean 188, 31 kpa.
ANA+. High IgG. Liver enzymes were elevated earlier but after 2 months and changed to healthy diet repeat liver enzymes were less elevated. No ascites/jaundice. Mild pedal edema.
1) Is it absolutely necessary or worthwhile to do biopsy or endoscopy considering her age to rule out cause?
2) If autoimmune suspected and is not ready to take steroids as side effects are more serious, then is biopsy still required?
3) LFT r better than earlier. Does it mean she can get better? Is repeat ANA , IgG to b done?

Appendicolith seen in USG but not in CT
Hello doctor,
I got both an ultrasound and a CT scan done.
Ultrasound says:
- Appendix is 5 mm
- Appendicolith (stone) of 11 mm seen in the lumen
CT scan says:
- Appendix measures 5.6 mm
- No appendicolith seen
- No fat stranding or inflammation
Currently, I have no fever, no vomiting, and no constant pain — just occasional mild pain in the lower right abdomen.
I'm confused:
1. Do I really have an appendicolith or was the ultrasound wrong?
2. Is any treatment or surgery required now?
3. Can this condition stay stable without surgery if I have no major symptoms?
