I had a nasty fall on 2 nd jan felt a jerk in right knee the MRI shows 3 rd degree tear of ACL and anterior horn of lateral miniscus. I am 44 yrs old male with diabetics and hypertension. The doctor advised me to take rest and put a knee brace do muscle strengthening excercise. Can I recover without surgery?

Hi, myself Vishal. Once while squatting, i felt a severe pain in my knee. This was some 2 yrs back, it used to pain exactly when i was at 90 degree position during the squat. It also pains me if i tried to straighten my leg. I immediately stopped squatting and in turn did lighter weights for legs. I did not visit the doc for about 7 months, the pain persisted so i visited a doc and he suggested me to stop doing leg workouts and prescribed medications. He also saw my reports MRI of the knee and the x ray but said its nothing major. He suggested a few simple leg workouts which i started following. After 6 months of treatment, i did feel better now the pain was lesser and it stopped paining me while squatting. I have started doing bodyweight squats but it does pain when i try to straighten my leg. It also pains sometimes while walking, twisting. It pains if i stand for a long time or walk a lot. I still cant run. Plz advise!

MRI of Right knee suggest : Grade 1 Meniscus tear noted in anterior horn and posterior hoen of Medial and Lateral Menisci Odema with interstitial tear in ACL Grade 1 sprain in LCL Bony contusion/marrow odema in lateral femoral condyle Focal articular cartilage defect noted over lateral femoral condyle Mild Collection noted in suprapatellar bursa and around knee joint. What is the treatment for this?

Hello Doctor's, My mother fractured her ankle last week, she wore a temporary cast. now a Doctor is suggesting operation (with metal plates)since it is not hairline fracture.I consulted one more Doctor and he said No to it considering my mom's age.(56y) What are the complications of operation ? Shall we go for it or not? I have attached X-ray report .
