My son was diagnosed with ITB and put on AKT but showed positive results till 3 months only after which he started to have severe abdominal pains and again started to lose weight and appetite. Then we consulted another Gastroentrologist after nearly 6 months from where AKT was started who put him on medication for Crohns to which he showed positive results but only for 15 days during which he gained 2 kg but now he is again having pain and flare ups. Sir/madam, I have crohn's since 8months.My current medications are mesalamine, azathioprine, Livogen, shelcal 500, pan 40.These medicines are pescribed by dr in Cmc vellore.Because it is a chronic disease hence I have to take medicines life long and reqire to consult a gastro dr in regular interval.my query is if I start to consult my local gastroenterologist, will it be very bad idea?
