Skin, Hair and Nail Problems

My son has frequent/continuous itching in his head/scalp. This reduces if he gets bald or keeps short hair (3-6 mm), but as hairs start growing gradually the itching starts and increases as they grow longer. Now. He has approx 15 - 20 mm long hair and severe itch. He even sweats above normal when playing. Had visited dermatologist few years back and was advised that the itch would reduce as he grows old. But now my son sometimes get irritated/frustrated with severe itch. His scalp doesnt have any dandruff and no rashes as well. Any advise would help. Thank you...
