My heart beats fast sometimes for no reason. It just goes in its own but it just disappers. Sometimes I really have to sit down and drink some water. What is this?

I've had heart palpatations for awhile. They have me on metoprolol 25mg twice a day. they checked my valves and checked for blockage. all looked good. meanwhile I'm continuing to have irregular heartbeat and/or racing heart a few times per week. I also feel lightheaded and feel stiffness up my neck and head. do I need to go back to the doctor?
