Can anyone explain me about the meaning of steroid tablet in simple words. And what's the use. During this tough time who is suffering with fever is it compulsory to give steroid?

The average consulting time that India's doctors spend with patients is negligible 2 minutes, generally physicians , even private ones have such crowded OPD'S that they only listen to symptoms and rarely conduct a physical examination , hence patients life gets compromised in this process , Asking this because i am a victim of such pathetic condition of indian healthcare system. I am living with a condition which was easily treatable. and now developed into chronic just because of this overburdened healthcare system. Since last year I have developed small black dots on the tip of my tongue. I had them at the sides of tongue too but they have disappeared on compartively lessened. Sometimes it seems they are fading away and then again appear.
