I've swollen tonsils since morning today. I just recovered from one phase of illness which started with tonsils, followed by fever for 3-4 days, which was followed by cough and and cold for 2 weeks. Can you please suggest any permanent solution to this problem, since this cycle always follows every time I have tonsils? Any medicines perhaps?

I smoked for approx. a year and completely quit on March 18. Since March 19 though I had sore throat/pharyngitis and tightness in chest. Back pain in the right side too. Still not gone completely. Is it the withdrawal symptoms or what?
