My 6 months old son is transitioning from milk to solid. Please suggest the food i can give him and frequency.

My baby was born on 2nd August 2018. 16th August onwards he started throwing up upon test and consultation the doctor have told us that he has reflux issues and the remedy is surgery if it doesn't stops with the medication. Please enlighten me with the cause, remedy apart from surgery and time.
