Difficulty in breathing

I'm having difficulty in breathing and it seems like an asthmatic patient. I smoke rarely and drink chilled beer occasionally. Few years back I consulted a doctor and he said that I have a bronchitis. I take turmeric powder whenever I feel difficulty in breathing. Kindly suggest some remedies.

Shortness of Breath.

I suffer from Shortness of Breath. Asthalin Inhaler does not provide relief (Earlier after every use my chest felt decongested and phlegm used to get out) now it does not happen. I am not frequent Inhaler user ( Do not need it everyday) however at time have to rely on it) I was an active smoker however have stopped completely for last 2 years. Am I suffering from something serious? SOB is not everyday however frankly I have not had a "Good Lungful of Air" in quite a while. Seasonal cold brings me down. I read about Montec tablets. Are those really as good? Family History: 2 of my first uncles suffered from Tuberculosis. Dad: hypertension. Mom : Diabetes. Please help.
