Cancer Care and Treatment
Pain and swelling underarm with soft tis
Considering my history of a benign breast fibroadenoma diagnosed six years ago in both breast, which caused intermittent pain and was managed without medication, and my subsequent inability to produce breast milk after giving birth in 2021,
I have found recent firm, soft swelling and burning sensation in my right armpit and breast, accompanied by fatigue, be related to a recurrence of the fibroadenoma, an inflammatory process, or another underlying condition?

Rashes on skin during chemo infusion
My sister has cancer and has been receiving a combination of Nab Paclitaxel & carboplatin for the past few months with very good response. Recently, during the chemo infusion, she developed mild rashes on her skin. The infusion was stopped, she was given medication and the rash was resolved. There were no breathing issues, swelling, or abnormal blood pressure.
I want to know is it safe for her to continue with the same combination from next cycle considering very good response she has shown to this combination?

Possible Polycythemia Vera
I am currently being investigated for Polycythemia Vera. I had Hgb of 17.2 and HCT fof 51 back in January. My EPO was at 6.6 and MPN reflex panel was negative for all the known mutations.
I stopped smoking and was on proper hydration for 5 months and re-tested my CBC from two labs
Lab1- Hgb of 15.4 and HCT of 46.2 RBC 5.17
Lab2- Hgb of 16.7 HCT of 49.5 and RBC 5.59
These Lab results are 48 hours apart from each other. Now, I am confused about which one is true?
I do not have any other symptoms, Spleen and Liver normal, no elevation in WBC and PLT.
My haematologist thinks this is normal for age (29 Male).
Kindly help me to understand what are my chances of Triple Negative Polycythemia Vera?

JAK2 Positive - Exon 14 VAF -30.4%
My father-in-law has had an elevated white blood cell (WBC) count of around 37,000 for the past 4 years. Two years ago, we performed all the relevant tests—bone marrow biopsy (negative), karyotyping (normal), and a comprehensive myeloid panel (negative). Since no mutation was detected at the time, the doctors didn’t prescribe any medication.
Recently, we repeated the tests and were advised to perform an MPN panel. The results showed a clinically significant JAK2 Exon 14 variant with sequencing VAF 30.04%, depth 66034X, Tier 1B.
Although my father-in-law's general health is stable, he occasionally experiences fatigue. The hematologist has now recommended:
- Aspirin Ecosprin 75 mg once daily for 30 days
- Hydroxyurea Myelostat 500 mg twice daily for 30 days
We’re seeking confirmation whether these medications are appropriate, and specifically want to understand any potential side effects of taking Aspirin daily.
Regards,
Pavitha

Throat cancer
My father is 70 years old and he has no diabetes and bp.healthy and active so far.but he is a smoker.
He felt some throat pain and had an extra bump in his tongue recently.
The surgeon removed it and sent it for biopsy. The result came as cancer and he said that it spread to his throat fully and asked to take a scan in the cancer hospital which we are planning to do tomorrow.
What will be the treatment? This can be cured without surgery?
Pls help me to know the next steps to face it.
