Meniscus tear
(history: previously had a grade 2 tear in lateral meniscus and grade 1 tear in medial menisucs while playing football 2 years back- no surgery, physiotherapy for 5 months and then was okay)
currently injured my meniscus again while playing and facing locking in the knee at times.
mri diagnosis:
1. oblique linear grade 3 tear with extension to the superior articular and anterior capsular surface in the anterior horn of lateral meniscus-
concerning for superior articular surface tear.
2. linear grade 2 tear with extension to the capsular surface with no
obvious extension to the articular surface in the posterior aspect of the body and the posterior horn of medial meniscus- more likely suggestive of mucoid degeneration rather than tear.
3. sprain involving the distal third of anterior cruciate ligament with no disruption of the fibres.
is surgery the best outcome for this situation? if yes what is the recovery time and how long till i get back to playing?
