My 3yr boy having cavity in molar

Orthodontic issue
My molar teeth are tilted outwards and there is deep bite also. I poted for braces and it's been 9 months since I got braces. My orthodontust is saying I can go for removal of braces for upper teeth as they are done. But I don't think it's done. Please help me form an opinion for further decision. Toothpaste for cavity protection - I have had a couple of cavities previously(all taken care by the doctor now) and still have fixed retainers. Brushing technique is important but is there any specific doctor recommended toothpaste that is is good for people with retainers and cavity prone issues ?
