Can a hypothyroid woman aged 20 use chromaffin stool softener syrup for constipation ?

I am a 38 yr old male with a slim body weighing around 60 kg. For past few years while sleeping after dinner i use to feel uneasy with heartburn and belching and often need to get up from bed . i use to take gelusil on few occasions and go to bed again with some relief. Is this acidity or something else. I also experience phlegm in my throat after
