Can a single hba1c test diagnose prediabetics ? I am a non obese person with normal fasting and post prandial blood sugar. I dont have any anemia. I checked my hba1c once and it was 5.8 . So can this single test indicate prediabetes in me ?

I had been diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency as a result of prolonged intake of steroids since 2011 . I have been kept on steroid withdrawal therapy from the past 6 8 months .I am taking hydrocortisone 20 mg daily. My doc had advised me to stop taking hydrocortisone for two days prior to my serum cortisol test. I did as told but on my second day of going without hydrocortison3 my nasal polyp was so large I could breathe and I felt suffocated . I took a dose of  duolin nebulizer .will duolin disturb my cortisol test count in anyway?
