Breastfeeding

Till which age is it ideal to breastfeed a baby after 6 months of age? I have heard recommendations to feed baby for at least two years of their age as it helps their brain development. Is that true?

Feeding baby while she is deeply asleep

Hello doctor, I have 4 month old baby. Her night time feedings are when she is in deep sleep and i breastfeed her in her sleep. I want to know is this safe practice? Any risk of choking or anything else? Should i wake her up before feeding or i should feed only when she herself wakes up and cry for feed?

Need Pulmonologist

Hi, my 2.5 years old sun weight 11.7 kg is suffering from cough from past 11 weeks. the cough reduces sometimes and we think that it is going to be better ,also doctor(MBBS DCH) thinks the same. But the cough increases again in some days and not going away completely. He is taking multivitamin A and d3 Syrup from past 3 weeks, also had some medications. Last week he vomited after having milk but just before that he ate few grapes so we thought it was becouse of grapes. today again he vomited with coughing after having milk and daliya. What should i do so that cough does not increases and he gets better soon ? He is going to school and doing daily activities without any problem. I have heard that pulmonologists know the respiratory system better than child specialist.

Hemsi-PD & foul brown stool

Hello, My 5 month old baby girl was prescribed 0.5ml of Hemsi-PD iron. When I started giving her, she had foul smelling dark greenish brown stool with mucus. When checked with the paediatrician, I was asked to reduce the dose to 0.3ml as there shouldn't be any mucus in stool. I started giving 0.3ml but the issue persists. Her stool was the same foul smelling with mucus. When I stopped iron drops, the stool was back to normal, mustard yellow with no foul smell. Does this mean she's allergic to Hemsi-PD? We reduced the dose further to 0.2ml and now the stool is foul smelling greenish brown but no mucus. However, she has been pooping for 4-5 times than when not consumed. She's fussy while feeding. Her stomach is growling. We have checked it a couple of times, this happens only when we give iron. Kindly advise! Thank you!
