Hello my father have knee osteoarthritis, knees are bowed, cartilage worn out, synovial fluid depleted ,his age is 68 yrs. What is the nonsurgical solution at this point of time?

When I lay down to go to bed my hand falls Asleep and begins to hurt and throb. If I sit up for a few minutes it goes away but when I let back down it happens again. It also happens if I hold something for too long.

I am having frequent pain with redness, stiffness and pain at a particular point mainly close to nails. Pain stays for 24 to 48 hrs. It has been going on from last around six to seven yrs. My age is 47. I take pain killer and continue with work.
