Hi i had a plastic surgery to my left hand 2 and half months back.. From then my elbow is not straightening and my wrist drop.. Does it need a surgery? Or can it reduce on its own if we do excercises

I was working out in the gym in the morning doing goblet squats with a weight higher that I could actually manage and I hurt my back. That evening the pain became excruciating and it was impossible for me to walk. I went to the pain and spine specialist next morning and he did a diagnostic block which he diagnosed as numbness and told me to rest suggesting it should get better. He also gave me a pain killer NSAID. However I am able to do some movement, a degree better than before but the pain is still bad along with stiffness, issues with Bending down etc. is there anything else I can take to reduce pain ?
