Tooth and Mouth Problems

My mand 3rd molar is impacted and since last night there is clinically mild swelling near the erupting tooth which is painless otherwise but causes pain on mastication because it's in the level of occlusion. i have my exams this whole week so i cannot go for extraction right now . what should i do to be able to eat food without pain ? it's almost impossible to occlude teeth or bring them to occlusion because of the gum swelling. the swelling is not red in color .

Just a theoretical question, if you had the resources, funds, measurements, background, and experience to make something like braces, would it be possible to do it on your own without a team. Just to build though, no installation or anything.
