Due to dry mouth i am unable to swallow food i have to drink water. what is the remedy,sie thanks

I have a small lump in the left side of my tongue and it really isn't changing color. I can't notice it when I look at my tongue but I can feel it when I squeeze my tongue with my fingers. Could it be cancer if it isn't growing and I have no sores? If not ehat could it be?
