Skin, Hair and Nail Problems

My son aged 17 has started to lose hair past 6 months. We consulted a dermatologist and he recommended the use of Minoxidil 5% and Finasteride gel for 2 months and then revisiting. Is this the only treatment? Is Minoxidil safe for a teenager? Is there long term health impact of using this? Thyroid tests were done and they r fine and HB is also 15. How do we treat this problem of teenage hair loss for the boy?

Of late my scalp has become very itchy and gets oily within a day of washing.Since i use anti dandruff shampoo my dandruff is under control but its not completely gone. I am also taking hair supplements under merical supervision. I do have hairfall but thats not very severe. A few years back i was daignosed with PCOS which is however under control now. Anti histamines helped my itching but it comes back when i stop. I also feel my hair is gradually thinning. Can the itching and oiliness be due to hormonal changes?Will DHT blocking supplements help?
