Recently Answered Questions on Hydroquinone

I used a hydroquinone 4% topical (recommended by a local pharmacist) for treating a dark PIH on my nose (which is supposed to be caused due to my habit of pricking whiteheads from my nose). After one month use, my nose becomes normal and remains red but when I discontinued the use of hydroquinone topical my nose started to become dark which looks more worse than the previous pigmentation. Does that darkness fades away with time??? As I have no option to go to a dermatologist due to personal issues...I only wanted to know that darkness caused due to discontinuing the use of hydroquinone topical becomes normal after some time. The duration of time doesn't matter whether it is 6 or 8 months...

Hello I am 23 yrs male and I am on acne treatment, So I am currently using ointments of Tetrinoin 0.05 at night and hydroquinone 2% in morning, Since its summer time sun is on its peak, I wanted to know how can I prevent sun damage, can I use sunscreen after applying hydroquinone, if yes the what time gap should I keep between hydroquinone and sunscreen? I also wanted to know I have uneven skin color of my hands and feet can I use hydroquinone in my hands and feet too, should I increase hydroquinone concentration for hand and feet or same 2% would work for both face and body, and how do I apply sunscreen after applying hydroquinone on body, what time gap should I keep between the too, and how often should I re-apply sunscreen if working outdoors in day time. BTW I like to use ISDIN FOTOPROTECTOR water based Sunscreen, would that be safe with hydroquinone and tetronin? I request to please answer me without suggesting private consultation, Thankyou.

I have been using a hydroquinone topical for last 3 weeks to treat a spot on my nose which irritates the side area of my nose after which I discontinued its use maybe i have been applying it on broken patch of skin...I wanted to know what happens if hydroquinone is applied on broken patch for such a long period as the irritated area is now turning darker...??

Can ochronosis can occur in fair skin people cause I know my relative she had been using hydroquinone for 4 years and yet her skin is flawless and brighten she seems to have no sign of hyperpigmentation I am fair and I have been using skinlite for 2 months and it gave new life to my dull skin I heard ochronosis is common in dark people but in white it is not

I am very confused I interacted with many American dermatologist and according to them hydroquinone with 2 percent is very safe and affective drug and is also fda prove in America and they even claim that they never saw patient who suffer from ochronosis with fair skin tone when used as prescription they have only witness African ascent people who misuse hydroquinone use 10 to 20 percent over and over and this make their skin blue to dark colour they even claim that there is no prove that hydroquinone causes cancer as it has been never been tested in human only rats were used who have different skin type and in other hand indian dermatologist claim hydroquinone cause ochronosis within 3 months and all I am very confused why dermatologist from over globe have different perception whom should I listen ??? Sir I mostly spend my time in air conditioned room u can say almost 18 to 20 hours daily I am at air conditioning room and I used hydroquinone cream and it gave excellent result my fair skin turned to milky white and all dark spots fade away and my skin is clear Sir I wanna ask I have heard over use of hydroquinone in long run cause ochronosis does it can be same with my case coz I rarely go outside in sunlight and mostly spend my time in a room so what can be it's consiquences then

I have a acne spot and a dark small line around my lip i thing i got it bcz of some irritating reaction around my lip,i decided to use hydroquinone to fade them but then i came to know that action of hydroquinone is not permanent so i do t want to use hydroquinone further but i have already applied hydroquinone on them 5-6 times so if i leave hydroquinone will acne spot and a dark line fade own its own inspite of using hydroquinone?
