How long spotting continues on pill? When to expect normal period. Should I continue the pills while I am having spotting.

My menstrual cycle is usually 34 days. I am trying to conceive since few months now. This cycle my doctor prescribed me metformin and ovacare. However very unexpectedly, I started bleeding like period on 26th day of the cycle itself. It started with spotting since morning and by night I had to wear a pad due to increased flow.
