I gave ativon sleeping pill to my father, he is felling dizziness, he had taken 6 hours sleep, i wake him up and he have no control on his body, i am afraid of the side effect if produce any

I have been taking xanax for a couple years now. I'm on .5 mg a day. However when my stress levels are high I take up to 1mg. I really want to quit but afraid to quit cold turkey. I'm so embarrassed to talk about my fears and anxiety yo anyone. How can I safely quit? I read online to not quit cold turkey. I'm a little scared.

I have always been a very anxious person, but recently one of my family members told me that I maybe need to talk to a doctor about it. I have seen therapists before and my most recent one thought that I most likely had GAD. I have irregular pain on the left side of the body. Whenever I take tension I have vomiting sensation , shortness of breath and the left side of the body like the shoulder and arm hurts a lot. So I can I use 1 sleeping pill for some days along with my medication Levetiracetam USP 750mg and Folic acid tablet 5mg which I am using from 1 year. I tried every method for stop focusing on this noise but I failed.
