Weight reduced 5 kg in one and half mont

Hello , 5kg of weight reduced recently from 70 to 65 kg recently start taken glycomet 250 mg twice a day and avoided white sugar and white rice taken very less , so is it cause of weight reduction, no issue on blood test lft and renal profile normal . Is this cause of stress , not slept properly as well . My sugar level is in control .
