Ear-Nose-Throat Problems

I was diagnosed with acute pharangitis by the Doctor , took medicine for seven days but slite pain swallowing on the left side of throat still exists, what can be the possible causes .

Its hereditary  in my family of Snoring, I was very light snorer earlier, but with last 3 years my Snoring has increased considerably loud , is there any way to completely overcome this situation, What remains the line of treatment ? whixh kind of doctors do I consult regarding this?
