He have fever from last 4-5 days around 102'F,tested from lab but no maleria and no typhied detected doctor told for 4- 5 days course of zifi 100 antibiotic's. But need more suggestion on it.

My daughter Is 8mnt old but as per her age she is weak. And now she has stopped eating tat a 8mnt old child intake...milk also she intakes less...

My son has had a fever for a wk now. He is active. Neg vomitting, soft stool. Neg CBC and urinalysis. Highest temp is 40C. Fever is on and off through the day, usually fever is in the morning when he wakes up and at night. He is not eating as much as before but he is eating. He drinks a lot of water. I give him Paracetamol 250mg 5ml prn. I give him Ascorbic 5ml a day. I don't know what else to do. Does the fever eventually subsides? Is this viral? Is this a normal course of the illness? Does he need a lumbar tap for diagnosis? Please help.
