My 8-month-old baby girl (7 kg) fell from a 1.5-foot-high bed and hit the left side of her head above the ear. Swelling appeared on that area, and we applied ice packs 2–3 times daily. Initially, there were no signs of serious injury (no vomiting, no abnormal sleep patterns, normal pupil size, no bleeding). On the third day, she developed a fever of 102°F. We consulted a new doctor, who said the fever was viral and unrelated to the fall. He mentioned there might be a minor skull fracture that would heal on its own within 1.5 months and advised no need for concern. Medications prescribed included Maftal-P drops, Dolo drops, and Mindfull drops. However, that same night, she vomited after taking the medicine, and we noticed the swollen area feels soft, jelly-like, or like a pillow, raising our concerns.
