My fathers age is 81. He feels some times mild pain in lower back side. What is the cause? What medicine can I give?

Hi I play badminton regularly, I got pain slightly at the lower achilles. Initially I was ignoring, thinking it's just due to overplaying. But then last sunday 26th March I got severe pain while playing due to which I started limping, since then I stopped playing completely and then started doing some massage around that affected area and did icing initially didn't take any medicine. Looking forward to play again but I am skeptical and still have very mild pain around that (lower achilles) area. Please suggest what to do next and also whom shall I visit for the checkup.
