Tooth and Mouth Problems

My dentist has told me I have loss of enamel on most of my teeth and should go for root canal on some teeth and crowns on approx 17 teeth. This is just an estimate as x ray is not yet done. Is it advisable to go ahead with this treatment? If so, who is the best dentist to get this done from in South Goa? I'm only 33 years old. So I want to know if there are any alternative or less invasive treatments.. I tried a tooth guard for some time but heard that that also can be a cause for pressure on the teeth if not designed perfectly. Please advise. Cost is not a problem but I want something that won't cause me pain or problems later.

I thought i had a piece of food between my teeth. I went to brush them and there was blood. The main problem is on my bottom gum,towards the front near my teeth. If i press down on it with my tongue, it's painful and kind of burns. Any ideas?
