Recently Answered Questions on Left side discomfort under ribs

I am having sharp pain under ribs on the right side of the chest while coughing, sneezing and deep breathing. It's been a week now. I tried ibrufen 400 mg for pain but it did not work. I am facing cold and cough since 1 week. This happened before once around 2-3 years ago but i did not take any medicines last time. It got normal in few week itself. I thought it was just because of coughing. Pain started again from right side n not on both sides.

Tenderness and swelling in right side rib area below chest. Visible difference between left and right side was first noticed two years back. Severe pain which increased with twisting and turning was there. Ultrasound and blood test results were normal. The pain went away in few weeks but the swelling didn't go away. Once in a while (once in few months) pain and tenderness will be felt but the area looks swollen all the time. Is this something to worry about.

I m having pain in my left chest in ribs just below man breast. The pain is more when I press that area and I don't have any breathing problem; however, my cholesterol in on boarder line high based on recent health check up and my Echo 2D was normal a 20 days back. I had a pain on lower left rib last 20 days. The pain came and after some time the pain was gone this happened 2-3 times . Last 14 days before acute pain started in night after which I consulted the doctor who gave me medicine for 10 days and have done sonography and urine report attached. But now also there is very little pain the whole day sometime I feel and sometimes it's gone which I could not understand why this is happening pls guide. Can untreated internal trauma wound cause or lead to tumor or cancer ...I have an incident 1year back which lead to green dark bruised on my left side of chest upper abs to upper left side ribs ...after 13 month pain come and go I have stop my Work out And I have drop my weight too due to moderate pain for safety reasons I was weight at 83kg And right now I'm at 74kg my height is 5feet 8inch.

I was eating at a restaurant and started feeling a few stomach cramps. This is not unusual as I have IBS. When I went to the restroom, I started experiencing my IBS cramps but this time it was accompanied by an extreme, sharp, immobilizing cramp up my left abdomen and under the lower half of my left ribcage. I nearly vomitted from the pain and became extremely sweaty. I was able to pass a normal stool. No diarrhea. Since then I have had a mild sharp pain under my lower left rib cage.

I have back pain starts from ribs of left side.Even i can not sleep on that side. It starts paining immediately. The pain is from last 4 to 5 months. I have done MRI of spine also but it is normal. Even left hand also pains sometimes. i have taken Calcium tablets as well as nasal spray of calcitonin for one month along with vit.D injections as my vit.D level was low. But after completing the course of 1 month i didn't get relif. Pain occours anytime sprcialy in night when i want to sleep.

Hi, my father had hyperthyroidism from the past 5 yrs . Currently he ia taking thyronorm 125 mg n the reports showing normal. But he is facing with muscle cramps under the rib cage. Sometimes the cramp would be on both sides of the chest at a time. Recently we consulted a endocrinologist n he prescribed some vitamin tabs. Any long term solution

Dear doctor , I am experiencing lower and upper back pain as soon as i wake up in the morning after night's sleep. In first 2 weeks the pain was in my lower back and gradually now i can feel it in my middle and upper back and not in my lower back. And this gradually disappears by the day and happens again the next day. And at the same time i m experiencing this pain in my right side in my rib area and this pain is a little pain but constant throughout the day and only occasionally disappearing for a day or two in a week ! Please help and suggest what is this with me . Is it gastric or any other issue Thanks in advance

My dad has suffered from a crunch ache in his stomach and it gets shifted to back and ribs also. He had consulted with many doctors but no positive result is seen . Initially he was taking mabicon , rifagut , rablet and pregeb M 75 . Now he is taking drotin and nexpro 20. But right now he isn't getting any relief from pain and doctors now referring for endoscopy. So suggest us something better option. Shall we go for endoscopy or not? And are these medicines all right??
