HBA1C value

Just got mother's HBA1C done, she is diabetic from 3-4 years, and got recovered from covid 45 days ago. Due to news of mucormycosis, we did her HBA1C done, it came out to be 7.6. However since she is maintaining sugar from 2 weeks, her levels are 120/150 fbs/ppbs. Mom was treated at home but had steroids for 6-7 days (12mg deflazacort). It has been 45 days post recovery. Is there any risk of mucormycosis?

Steroid usage

How much steroid is called high dose, and how long duration is termed as long dose? How much time it takes immune system to come back to normal to fight opportunistic infections? I was given 120 mg Methylpred per day for 7 days at hospital, then 24mg deflazacort for next 14 days as discharge medication. It has been 20 days since I left oral dose.

Risk of Mucormycosis

My father aged 59, was in hospital on 17th April for covid. He used oxygen support during night as precaution. Steroid was 80mg methylpred per day. Thereafter 14 days of deflazacort 24mg post discharge. Today marks 24-25 days of discharge. His blood sugars are 100 fbs/135ppbs. Does he still carry the risk of catching mucormycosis?
