Is it harm full to body or not to body what is the cause for it and what tests we should do for that

I am a 50 year old female, I have been having urinary track infection frequently, with pain and burning when I pass urine, I had urine culture done, results showed e coli bacteria, took antibiotics for one week , but the pain & burning hasn't reduced.
