My friend was taken for laser surgery of kidney stone but doctor said it didnt reach kidney since ureteral access is thin so he inserted ureteric stent which will widen the ureter and can do surgery after a week. . i know stent is placed after surgery for easy drainage. but never heard of stenting before surgery. is this common issue?

Please advise a best doctor. We have consulted with one of the doctors and suggested to operate. Please advise if operation is the right way to cure this problem. Thanks!

RBC count in urine is 15-20 and traces of protein, no pus. 25 days back urine test has RBC of 6-7, no protein, no pus. I have hypertention,150 /100. I have kidney stone in left kidney of size 6 mm. The latest ultrasound of November 2017 shows enlarged prostrate size. I have consulted few doctors on this and have been suggested for different tests by each, namely: PSA, CT urogram, cystoscopy.
