Hello- My mother has calcium 11.1 and PTH level is 153. When I consulted a doctor at my place, he said it is due to the PTH glands and surgery is the only option. Is there an immediate requirement for surgery or can she wait and watch for some time? Can this situation be brought to normal using medications? What medications can help her out? She is 57 year old is taking Blood Pressure tablets since last 3 years. However, her BP is mostly controlled.

I have been taking Thyronorm 75 for last 13 years, from my age of 40. I have gain 5 kgs in last 4 months. Please advice. I do follow a healthy diet and walk 10000 steps a day, atleast 6 days a week.

Hi dr,my sister had radioiodine therapy after post op thyroidectomy for papillary CA 2 months back. I was advised by the nurse that i should not enter her room FOR 2hours after she take the iodine pill. After that i can go and give her food and should come out and stay in attender room. For 2hours i didnt enter but after 2hours, i felt sad for her to keep her alone so i sat in her room in a chair of 5metre distance and i didnt touch her. I forgot radiation risk and was there for 3 hours and nurse asked me to come out..... I just scared that i may get leukemia or thyroid cancer. I feel always fatigue... I am scared of it dr... Can you tell me what percentage i can get cancer in the future.. Should i take a blood test or smear for treating ny fear

She had maintained normal diabetes of below 200 after lunch 6 months back but now it has shot gone up to 370 after lunch and the doctor has recommended the tablets. I have hypothyroidism taking 100mcg thyronorm. Past 20days I am getting hives ( urticaria ) , currently under medication for that. Yesterday I took thyroid test and my tsh level is 8.48 ( 4 months back tsh level was 0.14) . Want to know if urticaria and hypothyroidism r interrelated
