Is it fine to give muscovado sugar (khaand) to my ten months old baby girl..please give suggestions..

My iugr(1.02 kg birth weight )baby is now 9 months old weighing 6kg. He had low hb count when he was 1-2 months old. Now the doctor has suggested him to take 0.8ml tonoferon (no recent blood tests). Is it okay to give that much iron? Will it not have any side effects?
