Hereditary component for cancer
Hi, am a 26 yr old female. In my mother's side of family i have a noticed an increased number of cancer patients compared to other families. My grand mother (59- died) had uterine cancer my first cousin( 19-died) had brain tumor my mom's first cousin had (45-died ) blood cancer and another second cousin was diagnosed with colon cancer. It's not the same type of cancer but exept the one with the colon cancer everybody died at young age. Now i have a paranoia about cancer and even if i get a small headache i imagine the worst. Is my fear valid ? Is there any genetic component that can cause diff kind if cancers or is this just an unfortunate coincidence?
