Skin, Hair and Nail Problems

Hi my son is 2.5 yrs old is having skin issues on left thigh and left on left forearm. I have attached the pics for reference. We showed him to pediatrician and he conveyed it's fungal infection and prescribed some ointment. But it's not going away. Pls advise how to proceed should i take him to dermatologist
