Hi It's been 3 weeks since I'm suffering from cough and sore throat. Now I don't have sore throat. Dry cough in night and yellow mucus in morning. In the beginning I had only dry cough for which Dr prescribed me to take glencoff dx syrup and some antibiotics bt cough still persisted. I again took medicine bt still didn't recover. Now sometimes when I cough, I cough so hard and continously I feel suffocated and breathlessness like I'm gonna die. Today I visited nearby hospital. Dr suggested me to do chest x-ray, and some tests like CBC, ESR, TSH and blood sugar test. And prescribed me to take amoxycillin and potassium clavulanate, levocitrizine, abiways 200 SR and prednisolone dispersible tablets. Is prednisolone tablets safe to take as it is a strong steroid. I have attached my chest x-ray report.

My kid get bouts of cough (non-stop) for 50-60 min daily or every alternate day& it getting stopped after 50-60 min-rest time there is no sign of cough . This is happening since dec.Its either 9-11am or 7:30 -9 pm .He was on montair lc syrup for 6 months.His chest xray was normal.His IEG test was 61.78 Attaching other tests performed. If this is allergic cough & is there any thing i need to tk care. My paediatric told that its ok to cough for sometime not to worry will it cause any damage to lungs? Since yesterday night my kid is having dry coughing. Dry coughing was not much while he was sitting or playing whole time but it aggregated once he lied down to sleep. He suddenly started coughing more frequently. I gave him Asthalin+Cetrizine in syrup. But nothing helped him out. Finally i gave him duolin huff puff still no relief in dry coughing. Kids detail Age 6.1 yr Height 3 ft Weight 15.5 kg Please help and suggest what else or what needed to be given to sooth him so that he can sleep.
