Chronic pharyngitis with frequent cough

My son has a cough problem for long years and doctors say that there is serious pharyngitis. He has holes in the tonsils. Several drugs were applied but no result. He has used all home remedies including gargling regularly with salt. But no effect. All the time my son is coughing in a discrete manner. Please suggest what to do in this case.

Coughing daily due to mucus generation

During winter months, there is heavy mucus generation in the chest which causes a lot of coughing when I wake up in the morning. The coughing remains intense until I am able to clear my chest.
