I would like take contraceptive measures for 3 years and wish to take depo provera. I came to know that the first shot is taken during the fifth day of periods and continues within every thirteen weeks. My periods have not yet started after my delivery. Eighty days have been completed till today. My question is that when can I have my first shot and should I wait for my period to start. Please clear my doubt.

I had a c-section delivery on 28th March, then I had bleeding for approx 40 days. On 16th may I got my period that lasted for 5 days, on 6th day i had taken Depo-provera injection on the advice of a gynecologist. Now from 4th june onwards, I am bleeding (I suppose it's period/menses). Today is my 6th day and still I am bleeding moderately, not heavily. All these 6 days the bleeding has been consistent and moderate. Is it normal to have irregular period after taking Depo-provera injection or is it a matter of worry. Please suggest me as I cannot visit hospital due to ongoing covid-19 scare. Also suggest is it harmful to take contraceptive injection in future?

I had started taking a birth control contraception called depo provera since 07 November 2016, of which that December I got my period that ended around May/June of 2017, I never worried much as it was a highlighted side effects but beginning of October 2017 my period return which then stopped beginning of January 2018 for just that month, it's now month end February and I've been again on my period since the month began, please help!!
